Two machines · one decision

OutIn Nano vs Mino

Mino is newer and more rugged; Nano is cheaper and keeps a compatibility advantage Mino does not have. The right choice depends on what you value.

Verdict by buyer profile

Choose Nano for value + Basket Plus

Nano costs less at the observed regular price and is the only one of the two officially compatible with the Nano Basket Plus 16–18 g.

Choose Mino for faster cold-water travel

Mino’s 149-second heating claim, larger battery and up-to-six cold-water brews make the stronger spec-sheet case when you rely on self-heating away from a kettle.

Choose Mino for tougher outdoor specs

IP67, a stated −15°C to 45°C operating range and up-to-5,000 m altitude positioning make Mino the better documented fit for harsher conditions.

Choose Nano for ecosystem continuity

Nano has the older, broader set of Nano-specific baskets, replacement pieces and cases. Existing Nano owners may value that continuity more than Mino’s newer hardware.

Why there is no universal winner

Mino improves several measurable areas, but Nano keeps two decision-level advantages: lower regular price and Basket Plus compatibility. Calling Mino simply “better” would erase the use cases where Nano remains the more rational buy.

The biggest practical split

If you brew standard small portable shots and care most about cold-water speed, ruggedness and compact dimensions, Mino is the stronger fit. If you want the 16–18 g Basket Plus or a lower entry price, Nano has the clearer case.

What not to overread

Both pressure figures are manufacturer maximum claims. More stated bar does not by itself prove better espresso. The comparison therefore prioritizes heating, dose, battery, protection and compatibility — criteria that change the actual workflow.
